SEMPRIS is delighted to be sponsoring the 4th British Association of Sport & Exercise Medicine (BASEM) and the Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine (FSEM) Annual Conference, entitled Sports and Exercise – Bringing Us All Together.
The event, which will take place on the 12th and 13th October 2017 at The Assembly Rooms in Bath, has a varied and interesting programme and is organised in association with the University of Bath and Arthritis Research UK Centre for Sport, Exercise and Osteoarthritis.
Keynote speakers include:
Professor Carolyn Emery – Physiotherapist and Epidemiologist and Associate Dean at the University of Calgary.
Professor Cyrus Cooper – Professor of Rheumatology and Director of the MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Unit; Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton; and Professor of Epidemiology at the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences, University of Oxford.
This year, SEMPRIS is also delighted to be contributing to the FSEM’s sponsorship of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) International Travelling Fellowship Programme. It offers an opportunity for academic exchange and for sports medicine physicians to teach, and learn sports medicine, on a global level.
The fellows selected for 2017 are Kenneth Barnes, MD, MSc a sports medicine physician at Greensboro Orthopaedics in Greensboro, NC. He specialises in musculoskeletal sports medicine focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions and injuries. Mederic Hall, MD is to serve as Junior Traveling Fellow for AMSSM’s 2017 tour to the United Kingdom. Dr Hall is from Iowa City, IA and specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of tendon disorders with a special interest in the endurance athlete. Drs. Barnes and Hall will join AMSSM Founder and Past President E. Lee Rice, DO, who will serve as Senior Traveling Fellow for the tour over the period 30 September to 14 October 2017.
