You’ll likely have spoken to them at some point over the years, but how much do you know about our SEMPRIS team?
First in our ‘Meet the Team’ series is Operations Manager Lorna Hastings, also the host of the Health Partners podcasts.
Lorna says: “ I’ve been with SEMPRIS since 2 days before the first lockdown – quite the baptism of fire!
Currently, my day-to-day time is spent answering technical questions, hearing and talking through examples, clarifying strategic direction, managing people dynamics, dealing with the very real issues that arise in multiple lives within a business context.
My favourite thing about the role is talking to clients who have a problem to solve and working with them and our underwriters to find the best solution for them. Often, people come to us with what they think is an indemnity issue and I like to take a step back and put it into context. Insurance (or risk transfer) is just a small part of the risk management that we do every day. Painting the bigger picture with a member or an organisation looking for a quick yes (or no) answer, helping them to look at it slightly differently and then working out a proposed plan for how to mitigate a risk more effectively, empowering them to do their own jobs more seamlessly and, therefore, have a better defence when things go wrong (as they inevitably do) – is immensely satisfying!”
