SEMPRIS is the Sports and Exercise Medicine Professional Indemnity Scheme – a comprehensive indemnity scheme for all doctors involved in the treatment and care of professional sportsmen and women.
In addition to standard medical defence organisation membership benefits (see SEMPRIS MEMBERSHIP – Benefits), SEMPRIS also provides the most comprehensive medico-legal support and indemnity available from any insurer or medical defence organisation in the UK.
SEMPRIS brings together a wealth of experience including medico-legal advisers, insurers and sports governing bodies, and has been developed to overcome the gaps in indemnity provided by the medical defence organisations for doctors involved in the treatment of professional sports persons.
Developed and administered by Health Partners Europe Ltd, a leading provider of Sports Medical Trusts, Consultancy and Medical Support Services to professional and elite level sport, Sport & Exercise Medicine is at the heart of our work. SEMPRIS is available to all GMC registered members who treat professional sportsmen and women. It has been developed to cover all aspects of practice, not just sports related work, including non-sport related independent practice and professional issues not covered by NHS indemnity.
